Phoenixville Community Health Foundation Grants Over $1.6 Million to Local Organizations
Phoenixville: At the September 12, 2019 Board of Directors meeting, the Phoenixville Community Health Foundation [PCHF] awarded $1,,631,010 to local non-profit organizations serving the greater Phoenixville region. Since 1998 when PCHF was first started, they have granted nearly $39 million back to the communities of the greater Phoenixville region.
In alignment with the Foundation’s Strategic goals grants were awarded in three of four main areas:
Health & Human Service Fund
- Ensuring equitable access to high quality and affordable health and human services for all residents in the greater Phoenixville region.
- Grants totaling $1,285,000 were awarded to: Alianzas de Phoenixville, Ann’s Heart, Barnstone Art for Kids, CASA Youth Advocates, Chester County Food Bank, Chester County Futures, Chester County Health Department, Community Music School, Community Volunteers in Medicine, Daemion Counseling Services, Delaware County Community College Education Foundation, Domestic Violence Center of Chester County, Fellowship Health Resources, Gateway Housing Group, Good Samaritan Services, Grace Crossing Church, Health Care Access, Hope Springs Equestrian Therapy, Maternal & Child Health Consortium, Meals on Wheels of Chester County, Mitzvah Circle Foundation, Mom’s House, Open Hearth, Inc., Orion Communities, Phoenixville Area Children’s Learning Center, Phoenixville Area Community Services, Phoenixville Area Police Athletic League, Phoenixville Community Education Foundation, Phoenixville Jaycee Foundation, Phoenixville Public Library, Phoenixville Women’s Outreach, Royersford Outreach tba Open Door Ministries, Senior Adult Activity Center of the Phoenixville Area, Society of St. Vincent DePaul, Spring-Ford Counseling Services, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, The ARC of Chester County, The Clinic, The Crime Victims Center of Chester County, Transportation Management Association of Chester County, Trellis for Tomorrow, Variety – The Children’s Charity, Volunteer English Program, Wings for Success, Women’s Resource Center.
Housing & Public Safety Fund
- Improving the availability of healthy, safe and affordable housing opportunities for low-income, vulnerable populations.
- Grants totaling $138,000 were awarded to Home of the Sparrow, Housing Authority of Chester County, Good Samaritan Services, Good Works, Inc., Phoenixville Women’s Outreach.
Capacity-Building & Community Development Fund
- Enhancing the quality of life in the greater Phoenixville region by investing in non-profit capacity-building and community development.
- Grants totaling $149,510 were awarded to: Association for the Colonial Theatre, Chester County Community Foundation, Methacton Education Foundation, Open Hearth, Inc., Owen J. Roberts Education Foundation, Phoenixville Community Education Foundation, Pope John Paul II High School, Renaissance Academy, Schuylkill River Heritage Center, Support Center for Child Advocates.
Collaboration & Innovation Fund
- Advancing collaborative and innovative solutions by forging strategic alliances, partnerships and the integration of services that reduce service duplication.
- Grants totaling $43,000 were awarded to: Chester County Health Department. Phoenixville Area Positive Alternatives.
