EVALUATING YOUR PROGRAM: A PRACTICAL APPROACH
The Phoenixville Community Health Foundation is pleased to continue to offer a program initiative that is designed to assist non-profit organizations within the greater Phoenixville area with the development of an individualized internal evaluation model.
More and more potential funders are asking how non-profit organizations intend to evaluate the effectiveness of programs. In many cases this is not an easy feat … especially when these funders want more than numbers of people served -- they are looking for a measurement/assessment of outcomes. The training through this program is practical … no statistics! The tangible product for participants at the end of the program is their own, customized written program evaluation plan.
The Foundation has engaged the services of Dr. John Kelley of Villanova University to facilitate a comprehensive program that will train non-profit organizations with the development of a written program evaluation plan. The program components include: five ½-day workshop sessions, plus one-on-one consultation time. The program can accommodate up to twelve [12] organizations. The value of this is $3,500 per organization; however there will is no fee for organizations participating and successfully completing the program.
The 2009 participating organizations were: Chester County Cooperative Extension/4-H Program, Gateway Employment Services, Healthcare Access Foundation, and KenCrest.
